Breakfast Pastries
Here are some breakfast pastries that I would like to have the time to bake...
Anyway, I wasn't really feeling this assignment, which is a first for this class, even though I really liked the subject matter. I think what the hang up was the linework requirement and the way we were shown how to shade. I just couldn't really get the hang of it.
Arepas! I'm painting different than I usually do using the method in class, so I'm not sure I was able to refine some of the colors. It was fun though!
Spooky snacks
I found out last minute that I could use color on my spooky foods so I may go back and play with the colors a lot more!
So in the process I forgot a few of the techniques shown in class, such as the way to just recolor lines. If I had more time with these I definitely would've cleaned them up more and add shading to the ones that I didn't quite get to. I wanted to do sushi because it allows some great color palettes, and I started drawing them disintegrating when Lindsey mentioned breaking the food apart into its separate parts, and that kind of led into this sushi falling and exploding everywhere idea.
Breakfast
I just did some basic digital linework and inking, with some subtle shading in the color. I mostly used Kyle's inking brushes.
I mostly used a sketch brush and the Kyles wet and wild watercolor brush for the ones i did out of class. the first one of course is the in class one I did. i also used a bunch of layers.
Cakes
Tried different textures and styles to paint. The first one is my traditional way of painting in photoshop.
Whenever I get homesick, I start craving Dutch food like crazy. So my food is a collection of Dutch food featuring speculaas, tiger bread, poffertjes, and split pea soup. All of these were drawn traditionally with a Pentel Brushpen. All the effects were done with the Kyle T. Webster brushes (using mostly the add grain brush and the sponge brush). The background was a pattern I quickly made with Photoshop.
Foodcubes
Egg and tomato basil on toast with black pepper.
NASA Lunar Sample #96824. May also be a strawberry chocolate brownie.
Blueberry bagel with icing.
What was supposed to be a baked potato with beans, chives, and sour cream.
So I did little isometric foodcubes because I forget. Really subtle linework scattered here and there. Turns out I can't draw food textures really well. I'd totally call this group "Samplers" if I was gonna be witty.
