These are some super unique food choices Carl. Your color palettes for these are wild. The only thing is that there's a soft fuzzy quality that seems to be a bit soft in areas that often need a bit firmer edge. The very sharp patterns in the background don't often help this, as they make the foreground look out of focus. Also please tell me where where I can get red velvet ice cream with the black cones because that looks WIIIILLLLDDDD!
I really like the weightlessness of your illustrations. They seem like they should be wall graphics for the inside of a children's restaurant. The bubble tea one is especially nice. I think you got the shading and perspective down. The stuffed bell pepper one could use a little more defining on the inside. The ingredients seem to be a little muddied.
I really like the movement in all of these, it makes for a really great dynamic look for the set. I especially like how it changes in each situation - from the swirl, to the cascade... One thing that I think you could do to accentuate the food even more is adding maybe a set of highlights to the cucumbers, or some of the wetter foods so there is a bit of a textural difference in the painting quality? Maybe that bit of lightness / contrast in the highlights on the wet pieces will help show the beading of moisture, or the slick bubbles in the bubble tea. The straw on the bubble tea bends a little bit weirdly in the straw, but if you just bumped the right edge of the smaller part of the straw over it'd match back up with the bigger part, while keeping the forced perspective! One last thing that you could do is to try to color the linework in a color for the cucumbers so they are not as dark? It might make them feel really fresh!
All of your foods are so you unique and the way you displayed them are really rad! Your use of patterns bring them all together with the exception of maybe the striped one, all the other patterns share a dot pattern whereas that one is a sharp striped one. But I could still see it as a set even with the striped pattern it just might be fun to play around with that specific pattern. All in all nice work!
The textures and line work in all of these are super fun. Some of your lines are pretty messy but I think it creates a really nice sense of movement through out all your pieces.
I like the deconstruction/floating away compositions going on here. Very dynamic and the amount of detail in the first picture is pretty noteworthy too. One thing that might help out is that when laying flats, use a standard PS brush without any pressure/opacity triggers. I noticed (specifically on your bubbletea) that I can see the background pattern through the pearls; that's probably the result of using a custom brush to mark in broad areas. Change that up and you'll get a lot more clarity out of your work.
