I used the gradient effect a lot in this one, because I wanted to really make that ghostly effect apparent. I am missing some foliage or something in the foreground, because I spent too much time on the background. All the shapes were made with the blob brush or pen tool.
Everything you said is pretty much spot on- the gradients are used to great effect and mesh directly with the theme of the work, and the color palette really lends itself to it as well. The choice to make the tree in the front white was for the best since it somewhat counterbalances the lack of objects directly in the foreground, although I will point out there's a slight discrepancy in the leftmost gravestone's shadow clipping past the tree bow. All in all though, it turned out great!
ReplyDeleteThis really worked out so well, everything looks perfectly transparent and ghostly, and i love the subtlety in the figure. I think your color palette really helped with this too.
ReplyDeleteThese are all really amazing. Your use of gradients as well as shadows all were done so well that they benefit the pieces greatly make them all seem very cohesive. It think on the last one the gravestone's shadow near the tree might be a little off, but other than that these are all really nice!
