  1. These turned out pretty good- I think the colors are especially good choices, and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is based around summer colors.

Although I find the fruits to the most charming on an individual level (icons), I think your highly geometric ones were the most successful as a pattern. I would like to see more of said pattern however. Right now it feels like you only have the individual icons, not an overall pattern. It all boils down to presentation.

  2. The fruit patterns turned out really well I think, and you made good color choices with the icons, as well as the patterns that have a background colors. I would maybe enjoy seeing something more done with your secondary pattern, as I'm not sure they feel completely conducive, but over all you have a very nice thing going on here. There doesn't appear to be any streaking, and there's no one icon that jumps out at me.

  3. I think that you should try and show the argyle pattern in a bigger swatch so you can see it's a pattern. Right now it looks like a block of icons, which sort of disrupts the pattern-like feeling to it. It's a nice repetitive shape, but it'll be hard to repeat seamlessly right now as it is. Maybe I can help you with this? It would be really neat to try it in a neverending stripe of sorts -- maybe you could overlap them side to side and make it a large argyle stripe? The fruit pattern is nice, though - i think that the non-directional feeling to it makes sense, giving a nice nesting feeling to it with the way the shapes sit next to each other. I really like the stylization of these - very clean! I think that it would also be nice to see what would happen if this were a more tonal design - maybe you could try it with all warm colors -- or just a couple colors. I realize that would make it not very true to the colors of the fruits, but I think it could be a nice coordinating pattern. The last thing that would be nice is to show some different scales for the coordinating patterns on your design sheet - this would help people visualize how it would go together a bit better if the sizes were a bit different.

  4. The simplicity of your patterns is successful. From the colors, to the layout and shapes. It all flows nicely. I really like the last pattern, with the orange, blue, and yellow. I can see that printed or even stitched onto a thick sweater.

  5. You have a great color palette for your pattern. I really like how you've simplified it down to only one shape, yet you're still able to add variety with different types of fruit. It's a little static because the fruits don't move around, they stay in their exact same place and angle through the whole piece, I think it'd be helpful if you added more variation in placement.

And I like the geometric designs that you created. It'd be great to see it on a smaller scale with more shapes, just to see how it would work as a pattern.

  6. The way you used the elements of the fruit to create simple, non-representational patterns is super clever. The fruit themselves are so clean and the colors really vibrate with one another. Really appealing designs overall. I think the fruits on the pink, or maybe even a peachy color, work the best.

  7. I love the simplicity of your fruit icons, and it works really well with your muted color palette. I honestly prefer the more detailed ones over the simple one-color icons. Your coordinate patterns are really solid too - I kind of lose the connection between the two, but I dig the geometric style nonetheless. It's a nice contrast.
