These are so cute! They look like little pokemon! I think you should play with your line weight some more, there are a few spots that have thick dark outlines in the middle of the composition that really take away from the object and the sweet colors you used!
I'm enjoying the different color palettes you have going on! Since they're the same muted quality they harmonize together really well. I'm also starting to see some color variation in line quality that I think could be pushed a bit further - there are some instances like in the ice cream in the first illustration that are really convincing in terms of light that could be stronger in your other three. Also anyone eating these is gonna have a bad time eating cute food creatures.
these are really cute! your color palette works perfectly with your food, I think the only thing that could maybe improve this is just refining the linework a bit more, so it looks less sketchy, or maybe playing with line weight in certain areas and how that corresponds to the lighting.
These are super fun. i think the colors you chose go great with each other. i also like the fact that each piece of food is also a little character with a face. i think you have a good sense of light and shadows with these. im not sure how i feel about the sketchy quality of the outlines, it works fine but would be interesting to see what they looked like if they were more refined
Very much your style, Alex. Hallmark colors, linework and faces- I'd praise them but I think you know the drill- it translates wonderfully to drawing these little deserts. The one thing that's new that I think really elevates the images though is the glowing light- it's such a simple and subtle thing, but it plays really well with the colors you've chosen. I don't want to eat them though- they're much too happy and I'd feel bad about eating them...
the color pallets you chose for this are nice they just scream sugar. i would also like to say great job on your highlights, and that i wish i would push the darker values some more.the line work could maybe be a little cleaner but over all these are just super fun.
Sentient dessert! I like how small and simple everything is. I think these pictures would benefit from a little more delicate linework without the gradation to a lighter color. As it is now, that makes everything have the illusion of being kinda smudgy.
I always look forward to what you are going to draw little faces on next. Your drawing style and color palettes go well together, because they are both really playful. I think these could be improved by coloring the line work a bit more and cleaning it up.
Hi Alex! I have no idea how I missed commenting on this one! I wanted to make sure to give you some feedback! These are really cute themes! You can't really go wrong with dessert! I think that you can keep the simplicity of these really nicely, but I'd try tightening up your linework a bit. Maybe it's still gestural, but maybe you can choose one line to dominate the edges rather than the sketchiness -- just to try to make them a bit more readable, structurally. I think because a big part of their simplicity lies in the line quality, it's almost essential to make sure that each part shows up as clearly as possible! I think that the lighting on the top one is really nice - it's kind of etherial. I would experiment with that kind of painting on the bottom ones so they match the quality. I could see you also using some of the textural brushes, or maybe just alternating color a bit on the bottom ones so that each item has it's own textural quality. I think that would still keep them being minimal, but give each one it's own special textural quality!
