Patterns

Print Here are my two patterns. My original intention was to have a tessellation pattern for the second one, but I was having some issues with illustrator and couldnt finish it, so i took some of those icons and compiled a new pattern. Below I've posted a progress shot of the tessellation pattern so far, and I'll post the finished product when it's done.

  1. The tessellation one looks awesome! can't wait to see how it turns out. The second pattern, the eye really catches my attention. Maybe add that highlighter color to other parts of the pattern.

  2. KEELI. Your patterns are so chill, yet creepy and cute at the same time. Your color pallet is a nice contrast to the content of your icons.
I'd like to see a little more variation in the size of some of your icons throughout your pattern!

  3. I love these gruesome melty characters you made, super creepy, they look like melting ice cream people. i think your color choice was strong as well

  4. I like the way that you create this pattern! I just feel that you used to similar color for this project. I feel that the drawing is almost together with the drawing. I will be curious to see how this pattern can change by changing some colors.

  5. the mellow color pallet really plays with the creepy icons. i wish the background color coming through only a couple of icon and that some have maybe a white underneath them. the backgrounds kind of dull the icons on top of them..

  6. I like the concept, color, and renderings a lot. Hell, I'd even suggest maybe leaving the work-in-progress shot as-is because I think the linework mixed with solid objects is pretty visually appealing. There's a lot of tracking and odd clumps in both patterns though, so maybe a quick rearranging of some elements might solve it.

  7. You have an amazing way of making creepy things look really cute and its actually pretty baffling. In your second pattern my eye tends to focus on the yellow pops of color, and I think adding some of the pink/turquoise you have in your palette would better tie it all together. I'm excited to see how your tessallation pattern comes out!

  8. Deliciously grotesque- I am envious, seriously. That truncated torso with all the guts popping out just.. GAH. Gushing asides, you did really well, especially in regards to making a bunch of really detailed, specific icons without any particular one becoming too visually dominant. That said, I'm not sure if the patterns done in traditional black line work are as successful as the colored ones. My eyes are darting between all the colored pieces and the black ones gets left behind- hardly fair for him because he looks just as cool as the rest.
