Landscapes

Screen Shot 2014-10-16 at 5.42.09 PM Screen Shot 2014-10-16 at 5.41.47 PM I had to take a screenshot of these because i accidentally made them in CMYK, I also messed up with some of the layers in class so some of them are a little wonky. I did a sci-fi/space scene for my landscape, and basically going off of color palette and gradients for the "ethereal" quality.

  1. Your composition and color palette really make this image pop. It reminds me of some of the minimalist movie posters you see at science fiction conventions. It definitely has the ethereal feel to it- like a ghostly planet yet to be explored by a living soul. There's also a nice tug-and-pull going on between the ledge in the foreground and Saturn in the background. It keeps you looking- I like it!

  2. Nice color choice! I really enjoy the directional line from the foreground and midground converging on the planet, and the added gradients and shadows are excellent touches on the atmosphere of entire landscape. I almost want to see the left mountain nudged to away from the cliff and few notches so that X composition doesn't cut off that path connecting the midground to the background. Either way, good work!

  3. Wow! On your last one I really enjoy the color palette that you chose. The nice cool green tones make it definitely give of a nice sci-fi theme. Your use of gradients and shadows were initiated nicely.
