  1. Your strong display of color and lighting makes for some compelling images, and I do enjoy looking at them. This said, there's something about them that's a little off, like they're out of focus photos. Did you use a lot of blurring in the foreground? Generally you want the foreground to be sharper in detail while things falling to the background recede. You've got the right idea overall and there's some great potential in your capabilities, but I'd be cautious about the use of blurring and perspective- too much can throw something off.

  2. Love the gradient you used on the plants in your practice landscapes! I can see this working into your main landscape as well in a much bolder way, and making for a nice transition to foreground to background. I do agree that the amount of blurring is to the point where it's taking away from those nice compositional choices. I would sharpen the foreground and kick the third hedge down a few notches so the tiers are even. The fireflies are good (and cute) as is!
