Yeti Spaghetti

Yeti Spaghetti

I made this mostly with the pen tool and a little with the ellipse tool. I used nine different textures. I didn't want to use stroke in this, because I liked how "papery" it looked without an outline. I made the shape of the yeti the same color as the background that way he appears somewhat translucent due to the fur texture being white. I was originally going to upload just a yeti, but for whatever reason I typed in yeti spaghetti as the title and I knew I had to make him eating a meatball.

  1. i really like that you put textures on every single piece of the yetti even the black in his mouth. i also think that the cut paper look you were going for came out very well. i think it was a smart decision to not use an outline. the only thing that i think could have been cool if you used some sort of fluffy cloud or wintery snowing like texture on the background.

  2. Wow! I really like how your yeti guy came out! I think its amazing that you used nine different textures in this illustration and I think that you were able to use those textures really efficiently as they all come together nicely! I also really enjoy your papery texture and think it was a good call not to add the outline. Nice work!

  3. I really really love the design of this guy. All the textures seem to be working to your advantage, as well as the color scheme. The difference between the yeti and the background is subtle, but I like the style of it. As far as the spaghetti goes, it's great. I maybe would have picked a different texture for the noodles though.

  4. This is so fun! Your textures are on point! I think you could have maybe centered your image a bit more to cut down on some of the wonky negative space that you have going on, but it super solid.

  5. I think you made a really good choice of using more subtle textures in the piece. If anything, if you were to take another go at this, I'd suggest maybe adding some additional elements into the background.

  6. I think this is a super solid illustration! The only thing I would consider changing is using a darker blue on the fur texture, just because its a little hard to see against the background thats also a really light color.

  7. I actually really like the color of blue you used for the fur texture, it's just subtle enough to give the illusion of light and shadow within the fur. The teeth are probably my favorite part, both in the shape of them and the texture used in them.

    A+ Yeti Spaghetti

  9. I love this one! Yeti spaghetti is just adorable. I adore the concept and your execution, between the blobby arm and body of the creature, his frighteningly detailed set of fangs, and the way the curled up noodles on the fork show so much depth without even using more than a few colors.
