Eh, not sure how much I like this. Super-duper blurry.

  1. I love how you added the blur midway through and added a bunch of elements on top of it. What an awesome and easy way to make the personality of this piece stand through while making it your own! Also your brushes are gorgeous. Over all a super tight piece.

  2. I think this turned out fantastic. You really captured a nice sense of atmosphere, especially with the little dust/pollen specks floating around. The only thing that I would like to see, which is just my opinion, is there to be a little bit more foliage or maybe even a tree line behind the top of the waterfall. It looks like the water is coming out of nowhere.

  3. There is a really fantastic light quality to this! Great job bringing in the haziness of the light - it looks like a magical land. The haziness is actually really nice - I'm not sure why you were worried about it? One thing I think was nice, too is that you allowed yourself to use a lot of painting techniques to make sure that the whole piece felt equally assessed. The water looks fantastic - particularly near the splash and near the bank where you get that really nice translucent quality where the land meets the water. If there was anything else that I'd add, I might do a little bit of dark foliage along the other side, maybe near the bottom of the left corner, so that it balances out the dark aspects just a bit! I think the little dust particles / water spray looks great, too - nice accents!

  4. this is actually really incredible, I like how you simplified the background a lot to some tree shapes. The lighting in this is spot on, and those dust particles are a really great touch!

  5. The complex textures and tiny brush strokes are always appealing to see throughout your work. It's such a natural moment in time, a waterfall in the middle of a thick forest of trees, but you managed to make it look, as said above, "magical"! Between the atmospheric background and the detail in the plants in the foreground, it's a very expressive piece.

  6. I don't think it looks blurry at all. In fact, the way you used the blur early on in your process to paint over and bring out sharper blocks of color was a really clever way to go about this. There are a lot of moments of detail that are just fantastic - the grains of light, the leaves on the trees and bushes, the water rushing. The way it's painted is very convincing. Stellar job!

  7. This has such an enticing, ethereal quality about it. If we're thinking in the terms of video games, this is an area I would love to stumble across and just stare at for a bit. They way you blurred it out to really seclude the large zones of color was a good idea, and your paint strokes add some really nice texture.

  8. This is really rad. I love that it's blurry. It definitely helped that you blurred the entire thing and then went back into it.
It would be nice to see a couple of areas that a little bit more contrasted-- to really play with how light and washed out the light source is. It would add some drama. maybe just a little bit around the left side of the waterfall-- in the undergrowth area?

  10. This is really beautiful, I don't think that it feels too blurry at all. In fact I feel that you used just the right amount of blur to emphasize your piece. I really enjoy your use of textures and details along withy our color palette. You were able to effectively combine all of these elements to make a really successful piece!
