this is such a cool environment you created! I like how you used a brush that fit the texture of everything really well, and used directional strokes to make it even more convincing. I like your painted parts a lot more than the photo that's showing through, and i think you should consider painting those bits showing through, or at least a little more so it is a more subtle contrast.
Love how you resolved this piece. My only thought is how could you play with the lighting on the rock structures to really make that cool rock bridge stand out. Also how would it feel if it was a bit closer to us?
Your colors really make the image- couple those pastels with your brush choice and the finished image isn't too far off from being a Manet landscape. The bottom left corner is especially striking for such a small portion of the image- there's such a high concentration of vivid colors there- I'd like to see more of that on the rest of the shore line. All in all it's a great fantasy landscape!
It's interesting how you used the basic forms and values of the original photos but created an entirely unique environment. This has a really nice concept art feel to it, and the color scheme you ended up with is beautiful.
I love the texture of this piece, it's very painterly. The only thing I would work on are the lines of the water, they're just too straight and perfect in comparison to the rest of the work.
i agree with the texture being really nice, i like how much you actually panted over everything to make it look not so much like a photo collage. idk where that bridge is supposed to be going in the background but it looks awesome!
I really enjoy how your piece turned out! Your use of texture is amazing and the color palette you chose really makes the piece feel whole. It might be fun to play around with the water, the straight lines within the water clash a little with the rest of the piece. Otherwise great job!
Basically: really nice rocks in the foreground. Perfect mixture of texture and brushwork. Love the colors of the thing and the painterly quality. Only quip is phantom rock and buoy in the front.
I really love the painterly texture in this one! I think that you have some really amazing techniques in the foreground - especially how the rocks look. I think that you did a great job trying to make the whole piece look like one painting by adding the textures. I think that you could see if you could us a smaller textured brush to try to do the bridge in the background so it looks like it is receding, possibly -- maybe it's just that you can see through it. I think the colors look really nicely unified, too - maybe you could even soften the saturation a little so that you could make it a bit less sharp, but other than that, it looks like a really serene space! I love the translucent quality of your water!
