In all honesty, I like the idea, but it just doesn't seem complete. There is some movement, but it isn't that animated. I would suggest more noticeable and dramatic vapor trails, maybe some shimmering in the coffee itself.
I really like the subtlety in this piece. I do think though that the movement seems more like its blinking than steaming upwards? maybe if you made that blinking rise within the frames it would appear more convincing
Nice use of the fading technique! It works really wonderfully with steam. Creating a movement that flows naturally can be kind of frustrating, but I definitely encourage you to play around with more frames to make an animation cycle that flows together a bit less stiffly. The coffee still looks delicious, though.
I like your colors and the textures in the cup. I think that there should be some more textures on other surfaces through out the piece though. I also think that getting rid of a few frames or slowing down your animation might be a good idea because the steam is moving too fast to look realistic.
i love the way this was painted. i think the animation is nice and subtle but i think maybe it could have used a few more steps in the animation to make it look like the steam is rising and not just sort of pulsating.
Like the others have said, throwing in some additional movement frames for the steam instead of switching opacity between two (three?) different pictures would really help the piece. Other than that, I like the painterly quality.

ReplyDeleteWould love to see some steam happening on the reflected table, but I love the warm+cozy feel of this piece!
