audrey

Audrey loves to dance, but not quite as much as she loves Dale Cooper.

I wish I'd chosen something simpler to animate, but oh well. Also, the sections I used the warp tool on don't look as good as the parts I redrew for every frame, in my opinion. Still a good learning experience.

  1. It looks pretty good. I think you could have used "tween" to make it smoother though! It's a little jerky.
Also making the other side of her move in response to the right side-- it would be more natural. But obviously with the time, I understand that that is difficult.

  2. Redrawing every frame can be pretty hard but you did a solid job! I do find myself getting caught on the stationary arm though - I think animating it with the rest of the body would make for a more natural movement.

  3. The drawing and color palette are really nice. The animation is pretty smooth and you can tell that she is dancing. The only thing that bothers me about this gif is that I think it would look better with one more frame of her placing her left foot on the ground. It just seems a little off.

  4. I really like this piece and I think you handled the animation quite nicely. Like the others have said, maybe two additional frames would really add to the fluidity of the piece. You could probably even get them by warping the initial image, too.

I really like your color palette and the style you used for this. I also like the slight turn of the hand that happens, which adds a nice depth and keeps it from just looking like a single illustration getting stretched and pulled. I used the warp tool on mine as well so I understand how hard it is to make it look natural and fluid, but I think this translates pretty well regardless. Making that other shoulder move a bit, or even just the hand, would make it even more fluid and natural.

  6. Love the feeling and vibe of this. I think just one little movement happening on her face would really play up the strong personality of it.
