My gif which I made using bright palettes from a previous illustration. Really digging using Kyle Webster's sponge brush to add a rough kind of texture without using many textures. As with many of my assignments for this class, I've been trying to be as line-less as possible and focus more on strong shapes/composition.

  1. The elements you chose to animate work together really well. I would maybe add more frames in between to make it a more fluid movement - also the pace of both objects are the same, so if you wanted them to move as separate entities I would suggest changing the pace of one of them.

  2. This is a really nice gif, and I think trying to stray away from too much line worked very nicely here. Your animation seems really consistent, it really feels like its bobbing up and down in the air. Something feels a little off with the waves to me, but I wouldn't say it detracts from the overall feel of the gif.

  3. I really like the style of how this was drawn. It's super fun to look at. I think you could really improve this gif by using more frames between the movements of the floating objects. They just seem to be moving very chunky like.

  4. i dig the brush that u used to get that grassy look on the hill the figure stands on but in some places i think it is used to largely for how far away some of the things should look. such as the left side of the floating island. super cool concept, i love the composition. it would have been cool to see the character do something small like turn his head or something like that.

  5. I love the fact that you animated pieces throughout the illustration so that you don't just focus on one thing. It gives it cohesion and also makes it more interesting overall. I would agree with Patty in saying it would be nice to see it a little more fluid, but it doesn't bug me that much.

  6. I almost want a bird or something to fly across the sky. I like how simple it is, but it would be interesting to play with all of the action and movement around this lone figure that doesn't move. Then he/she/they would be very sturdy in comparison to the rest of the surroundings.

  7. Great composition and a great image in itself, it reminds me a lot of all the old N64 platformers I used to play. I like the concept behind the animation, but I'm in agreement that perhaps it could use a couple more frames to make the animation seem more fluid overall. I also noticed you have an animation for the background and midground, so I'd like to see some animation in the foreground- maybe have the knight's head scan the horizon. Something simple that would bring it into the action, that's all!

  8. This is a really cute animation! I like the variations of line work between the castle mote thing and the ocean/land. The animation is kind of choppy but I think it works in this piece

  9. I really like this animation, but I would love to see more. The movement is really quiet and subtle, which goes well with your color palette and style, but It would be great to see either more movement throughout the piece or to see those exaggerated more. You could animate the clouds, the knight's hair, the grass, etc. I think you're almost there!

  10. i love the textures in this especially those clouds.the animation is a little jerky maybe another inbetweener so every thing runs a little smoother that water feels a little unnatural.but it does'nt take from the gif
