So I used approximately 6 photos for this. This is just what I made in class last week. I used the crappy tree brush we made in class, along with the sand textured brush. I think this turned out alright. I'll probably do this again when I'm bored or if I need help creating an environment.
Its sweet that you used so many photos in this, they all blend really well even though some of the color schemes clash some. it still somehow fits together!
ReplyDeleteyour last one is my favorite cause of the brush sets you used. they look really thick but have a nice color overlay at the same time.
I think you did a good job with this, its got a lot of great textures. i like the flow of the composition.
ReplyDeleteLove how you warped and played with this image. You chose to do some super awesome stuff with that background. The only part that sticks out to me as being on a different level of finishing from the rest is the water in the center. If you were to come back to this, I'd love to see where you go.
ReplyDeleteI love how painterly this is. Very well done. The way my eye is lead through the pieces is very successful as well. It would be even better if there was more contrast. Or perhaps something in the foreground? What if there were trees or leaves coming forward at the front-- kind of like our landscape project-- that would give a sense of perspective!
ReplyDeleteThe way you were able to take that many different images and textures and end up with such a cohesive image is impressive. I love the hazy, post-rain effect that it has. The curve of the river currently seems a little tight and awkward, which could probably be fixed by chopping out a little bit of that mountain on the left.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job of blending in all those photos! The only thing I would point out is the blurry water in the midground in contrast with the sharper rocks on the lower left. Going back in and painting over it would break that up and really tie your piece all together.
ReplyDeleteYou did a nice job unifying the color in this piece - I think it helps to blend the images. I might add a bit of photo-real texture into the water that is right in the middle to make it seem like it's got the same kind of texture as the rest of the piece, but maybe a subtle overlay would work? I think that you could also play with a bit of blurring between some of the foreground / middleground / background, to help us see where one stops and one starts. Sort of an atmospheric perspective kind of thing where you want us to focus. I do like how you've chosen the parts to create this scene. They look like a great new composition and the zig zag of the water is really a great path that we can follow back into the image.
